Intellego started off in 2009 by Jurgen Gouws, a young winemaker from the #Swartland region of #SouthAfrica.
Jurgen used to work for Craig Hawkins, the man behind El Bandito wines, who first taught him about making fresher wines.
Gouws in order to achieve this style has prefers to work with bush vines, and a strict adherence to organic farming without irrigation and is very much keen on whole bunch fermentation and minimal intervention in the cellar.
The 2017 #cheninblanc comes from 2 different vineyards, one from a granite site in Paardeberg and the other from a sandy/clay over gravel site in the southernmost hills of Swartland.
The wine has plenty of complex fresh fruit such pear, apples and citrus, combined with richness flavours of hazelnuts, with great amount of freshness at the end.
